WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?

Artificial intelligence is machines that will perform human tasks. Human tasks like problem-solving, speech recognition, face recognition, etc. There are three main types of AI: Artificial narrow intelligence (ANI), Artificial general intelligence (AGI), Artificial superintelligence (ASI). In this article we will be able to understand the various types of AI, how they work, and my final thoughts on AI and our future.

TYPES OF AI

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) — ANI is a low classification of AI. These machines can only perform specific, “narrow” tasks. Examples of this will be your phone's voice command, A bot in computer games, or an automated voice machine.

Artificial general intelligence (AGI) — AGI is another type of AI that can perform many specific tasks to such an extent that it mimics human intelligence. This technology can take what it has previously learned, apply it and learn something new with no previous human programming. AGI doesn’t yet exist but is extremely close like Impala AI created by Deep mind. This AI uses reinforcement learning which can be a trial and error program that optimizes itself by going towards a far better outcome.

Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) — ASI is considered to be so smart that its intelligence growth rate graphed out becomes so exponential that it forms a vertical line. This is often called singularity. Currently, ASI far exceeds nearly every human ability. The changes made to the world after the singularity would be unfathomable, and incomprehensible. This might include brain neuro interfaces during which you’ll merge human brains to machines to enhance them. This project has already been started by Elon Musk together with his company Neuralink. Singularity can also include human immortality, entire nanotechnology worlds, and having the ability to live in virtual reality.

HOW DOES AI WORK?

When it comes to AI, there is something called machine learning. Machine learning deals with a set of algorithms that gives the AI the power to “learn” without human input. Machine learning is categorized into two: Supervised and unsupervised learning.

  • Supervised learning — this category of machine learning gives a particular target like a car, animal, or plant to the algorithm and provides an outline about it also. These descriptions may include height, width, weight, color, shape, etc. The algorithm could also be given different targets, create new algorithms and predict what these targets are established on the data it’s given. If the algorithm is given targets like a car, animal, or plant it’s called classification. If the algorithm is given a target with a true value like the worth of a car, someone’s age, or weight then this is called regression.
  • Unsupervised learning — this category of machine learning is basically supervised learning without the given targets. It takes data like age, height, purchasing habits, interests, rate of change, etc, and groups them together based on similarities. This is often among the foremost common sorts of unsupervised learning, clustering. It’s used for things like ads and product recommendations. This category of machine learning is applied by banks to detect fraud and RB&B for recommendations.

CONCLUSIONS AND FINAL THOUGHTS

Without any doubt, AI is the ultimate triumph of human advancement. Fully functional AI that mimics human intelligence It feels like the end of human progression. If we don’t merge with AI it’ll be far ahead of us, we’ll not be ready to predict or control it. This completion of AI if done correctly will mean the end of disease, mortality, and also employment. Soon machines will outpace us and do everything for us. Imagine machines bringing food for you, making all technology for you, farming for us, and even teaching us new things if we wanted. After now there’ll be nothing left to do besides anything we would like. Also, we must be very careful because given enough time we would become too reliant on these machines.

We are incredibly smart and regardless of how you look at it, we’re always going to come to the point of creating Artificial Intelligence. Our goal is that it always progresses and makes our lives better and what better way to achieve that than to possess something smarter than you tend to your every need.

If we take this approach and let the machines hand us everything then all we’ll ever do is to consume and need more. I conceive we must merge with AI in order to do whatever we want. By doing so, we are not completely at the mercy of machines. This way we’ll have ultimate freedom.
